Tunisian Holiday

A couple of years ago I embarked on a holiday to Tunisia with friends. The appeal was the nice hotel displayed on the web and brochures with some pretty good reviews. It wasn’t very costly to say we had just come out of our student lives. Weather at the time of year was very hot and it seemed like a very nice place to visit. Not a huge amount in terms of attractions but it was to be more of a relaxing holiday than anything else. We booked it as an all inclusive to ensure that we wouldn’t have to worry about being fed and watered.

By the tone of this post I am sure you can tell where this is going. Disaster struck the minute we got into our room. First off the room had not been cleaned and the bell boy tried to disguise the fact by making us wait outside while he did some quick running around. A complaint to reception resolved nothing and we had to stay the night in the room given there was no other option. The next day we went to lodge a complaint which resulted in us being given a better room with a better view aswell, however this room has just been vacated and again they were reluctant to clean it. A full day of going back and forth to reception finally got the room cleaned and us settled in.

Food and drink was of poor and shoddy quality and this ultimately combined with their lack of hygiene ended in me and friends falling very ill. Our time together was spoilt and we came back miserable. Thumbs down Tunisia.
