More and more people are skipping the traditional package of holiday of flying to a destination, staying in a hotel and lounging about, instead opting to go for a more active travel holiday. Instead of flying, why not hire a van? This means you can enjoy all the sights and culture you want without being tied to a single location or certain travel times.
That being said, although it is much more fun to travel at your own choice, it is important to make sure you have sufficient cover. Everyone knows the importance of travel insurance, but a lot of people who hire cars and other vehicles while abroad forget to take care with vehicle insurance. If you choose to hire a van, it is vital you get the right kind of cover to go with it. Choosing van insurance is the same as car insurance so there’s not much to it. Or, if you are lucky enough to use a van for work already you can save some cash by checking whether your commercial van insurance already covers trips abroad and/or leisure trips.
The great thing about travelling in a van as opposed to a car is you’ll never be stuck for space. You can even get away with sleeping in the van if there’s only a few of you, simply get a blow-up air bed or two and you’re all set!

More and more people are unable to travel abroad on holiday due to the increase in living costs. Mortgages, an increase in utility bills, an increase in food prices are leaving people with less spare cash to spend on a holiday abroad. It is even resulting in people not being able to take long breaks within the UK. More people are taking shorter UK breaks because accommodation in the UK is by no means cheap and many people find long camping holidays too stressful. Families especially find travelling in the UK stressful due to the limited number of destination that are child friendly. Families tend to travel to coastal regions as the beach areas are one of the most child friendly areas without having to incur large costs.

Is a holiday with a partner or a holiday with friends more relaxing and therapeutic? I short while ago I went on holiday with my partner and friends and had a wonderful time. My partner and I could spend time together as well as spending time with friends. We were able to share some holiday experiences alone and other experiences with friends. For me this was an ideal holiday. Prior to the holiday with my partner and friends I went on a holiday with just my partner which was very pleasant, however I found sharing the holiday experience with more people much more enjoyable. I have spoken to a number of friends since and they found the holiday with partners and friends much more relaxing and enjoyable.

Choosing where to travel abroad is a difficult decision for anyone. Choosing whether to have a self catering holiday or an all inclusive holiday is also a difficult decision. With the exchange rate being relatively poor at the moment, more and more people are choosing all inclusive holiday packages over self catering holidays. I recently booked a holiday and whilst booking I was given the option of a self catering package or an all inclusive package. After looking at the exchange rate I realised that I would get more for my money by choosing the all inclusive option. The Euro to pound exchange rate was 1.13 to 1 whilst booking which meant eating out every day on holiday would amount to a fairly large spend and I calculated the self catering option would easily amount to 20% more than the all inclusive option.

After looking at my options of where to travel on my Holidays in September, I have decided to travel to Rhodes which is an island off Greece. The travel agent was very helpful when booking the trip. They gave me many options on travel destinations which was great being as I only gave them three weeks notice. Before I decided on Rhodes I was just about to book a holiday to another Greek island when the travel agent directed my attention towards the Trip Advisor website. The reviews on the Trip Advisor website about the other Greek island were not very positive at all. When the travel agent looked on the Trip Advisor website for the hotel we had looked at in Rhodes the reviews were fantastic. I was told to take the Trip Advisor reviews lightly but following the number of negative reviews on the other Greek island the choice for me was simple.

I have been wondering where to travel on my holidays this year and I after a long hard think I decided that I wanted to go on a European beach holiday as it is something I have never done. I have travelled to America and to the Caribbean but I have never taken advantage of the good weather in Europe. I went to see a travel agent and told them I didn’t want a holiday where the night life was out of control. I wanted to travel somewhere that would allow me to relax but if I wanted a decent night out on the town then I wouldn’t want to travel too far to get to a vibrant area. I am travelling at the beginning of September and the travel agent advised me that Greece, Cyprus and Turkey would be the best options for me as the weather is still great and there are many places in these countries that provide what I am looking for.
